Job Description Location:
Twinsburg, OH Summary The calibration technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of measurement systems used in aerospace components and assemblies. This role will work hands‑on with operations, test engineering, and quality to support compliance with aerospace quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement across our metrology and calibration programs.Job Location:
Twinsburg, Ohio Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform calibrations on dimensional, mechanical, electrical, and environmental test equipment used in aerospace production and R D environments.
- Verify measurement traceability to NIST, or other recognized national standards, in accordance with aerospace quality requirements.
- Analyze calibration data, evaluate measurement uncertainty, and ensure results meet stringent aerospace tolerances.
- Maintain calibration records and certificates in compliance with
AS9100, ISO/IEC
17025, and customer specific requirements. Work with Engineering, Quality, and Operational teams to identify and locate items that are due or overdue for calibration and act accordingly (e.g. calibrate, send for calibration, quarantine, etc.) Troubleshoot and diagnose or repair precision measurement equipment, including sensors, transducers, torque tools, and environmental chambers.- Develop, refine, and validate calibration procedures to support new aerospace programs, materials, and test methods.
- Support internal and external audits, including customer, regulatory, and accreditation audits.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operational teams to resolve measurement‑related issues affecting flight hardware or qualification testing.
- Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and production personnel on measurement best practices and equipment handling.
- Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental programs and culture
- Travel requirements: Occasional travel (general guideline, once per semester) within the U.S./Outside the U.S.
- Evening/night hours may be required
- Extra hours may be required during business peaks Job Requirements Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Experience:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Metrology, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
- 3-5 years of metrology or calibration experience in aerospace, defense, or other high‑reliability manufacturing environments.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Basic Knowledge of GD&T
- Strong understanding of precision measurement principles.
- Experience with aerospace‑relevant equipment such as: o CMMs, laser trackers, and optical measurement systems o Torque analyzers and force measurement systems o Pressure, temperature, and environmental test equipment o Electrical and avionics test instruments (oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators)
- Familiarity with
AS9100, NADCAP, ISO/IEC
17025, andANSI/NCSL Z540
requirements.- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and aerospace standards.
- Proficiency with calibration management software (e.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting qualification testing, environmental stress screening (ESS), or flight hardware acceptance testing.
- Knowledge of MSA, SPC, and root‑cause analysis tools (8D, fishbone, 5‑Why).
- Familiarity with aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and inspection workflows.
- Strong communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration in a regulated environment.
