2021-06-14 JOB SUMMARY Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots power plant emission monitoring systems in support of efficient generation and compliance of power under varying conditions.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Directs activities of emission monitoring contractors and vendors. Serves as a mentor and assists with training entry level technicians. Performs complex maintenance, configuration and calibration of emission monitoring systems utilized in the compliance demonstration in electrical generation. Provides technical support to lead I&C/ICE technicians in emission control schemes. Schedules and coordinates daily activities with peer operations personnel and is able to negotiate scheduling conflicts. Direct, plan and conduct assignments of a complex nature serving in a lead role. Provide detailed troubleshooting and programming enhancements to hardware and software vendors. Serves as a technical resource to operations personnel and lower technician positions. Troubleshoots and maintains all AC/DC control circuits and components. Serves as a technical resource for capital projects in the area of emission monitoring. May serve as the interface between testing contractors, plant operations, and/or regulatory agencies assuring test plans and methods are adhered to during compliance testing. Strong regulatory knowledge for air emission monitoring requirements (40 CFR parts 60, 63 and 75). All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree in a Technical discipline (i.e. Electronics, Engineering Technology, Power Plant Operations, etc.) And 6 years maintaining instrumentation and controls or testing equipment or industrial controls; Or Bachelor's Degree in any field And 4 years experience maintaining instrumentation and controls or testing equipment or industrial controls; Or 4 years journey level experience in a craft technical/mechanical role; Or 8 years relevant military experience at the journey level or one enlistment completed with DD Form 214 - Discharge Papers and Separation Documents.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to travel frequently to all generation facilities in the OG&E system with the majority of time spent at power plants (typically gas fired EGUs). Travel for work and/or training both in and out of state and may require overnight stays. Works independently. Required to climb ladders up to 250 feet and work at high elevations for extended periods. Required to travel to all generation facilities in the OG&E system. Required to work non-standard work schedules (i.e. outside typical Monday through Friday) to include overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-outs, as needed. Required to work in all ambient conditions (i.e. extreme wind, heat and cold). Required to wear PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, flame retardant clothing, steel toed boots, hearing protection, fall protection harness and respirator. Obtain and maintain certifications (e.g., NICET level I or ISA level I), as required.

Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSAS) Demonstrated leadership in Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture. Advanced knowledge of fundamental instrumentation and control concepts. Advanced knowledge of maintenance and quality assurance practices of emission monitoring hardware. Strong knowledge of emission monitoring systems and components. Strong ability to communicate with individuals at various levels throughout the organization. Advanced computer skills using MS Office, SAP, DAHS and remote access software to the analyzers, dataloggers and plc (i.e. iPort and iNet). Advanced knowledge of analyzer, dataloggers, PLC and DAHS communication protocols. Ability to read and interpret advanced Instrumentation and control drawings. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in the use of hand tools. Demonstrated ability to take on additional responsibility. Advanced knowledge of AC/DC control circuits and components. Strong knowledge of OG&E's Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and the demonstrated ability to follow the procedures within the plan. Strong knowledge of the measurement technologies utilized in the monitoring of emissions (i.e. ultrasonic, laser, infrared, chemiluminenscence etc.).
