POA is hiring an Instrumentation Field Service Technician 1 to work at our Bend, Oregon headquarters. The Instrumentation Field Service Technician provides field service instrument calibrations, maintenance and troubleshooting for customers and equipment complying with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
Skills Needed:
Ability to work with a team. Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others; adhering to schedules. Technical aptitude/capacity. Must be able to work safely around electrical systems and industrial automated processes. Ability to use standard electrical instruments such as multimeters, inductive ammeters, etc. Proficient with standard electrical and hand tools, instruments for temperature, pressure, humidity, conductivity, etc. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and piping and instrument diagrams. Ability to use MS Office Suite (Email, Excel, Word, etc.), PDF creation software (e.g., Adobe, PDF-Xchange). Project Management software (e.g., Project Insight) and Asset Management database ( training provided ). Spelling, grammar, math, and technical writing skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two-year trade school certified or equivalent experience in the field of automation and instrumentation. 3-5 years experience in an industrial, manufacturing, GMP, or production environment Specific job functions include (but are not limited to): Perform project assignments and field service relating to automated systems and control. Perform scheduled calibrations and maintenance for customers and POA. Perform installation, configuration, programming, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all automated systems and process control instrumentation including, but not limited to pressure, flow, temperature, humidity, controllers, control valves and actuators, load cells, analytical transmitters, chart recorders, intrinsically safe barriers, loop isolators and life safety equipment and systems. Utilize Asset Management Software to support a full calibration program for customers and equipment complying with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., 21CFR Part 210/211). Collect and verify data using electronic signatures and file storage as well as using Good Documentation. Maintain Reference Standards in good working condition, ensuring they are cleaned, protected during handling and transport, organized, and in a current state of calibration. Support Integration, Validation, and Filtration activities, as needed. Prepare dataloggers to be launched. Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
May require standing and walking for up to 80% of the time. Sitting, walking, bending and occasional lifting, up to 50 lbs. (overhead, waist level) from floor. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction and electrical trades. Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards. Able to drive a vehicle and maintain a valid state driver's license and insurance.
Work Environment:
Work indoors in a general shop environment. Work in customer facilities including but not limited to: Clean rooms, GMP controlled environments, light, and heavy industrial facilities. Outdoor field work on occasion.

Frequency:
Approximately 30% or less of total time.
Duration:
2 days - 2 weeks at a time, dependent on customer/company needs.
