00 / Hour (DOE) Position Overview Instrument Calibration Solutions, LLC (ICS) is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our Pittsburgh, PA laboratory. This role is intended for a technician who can work independently, apply sound metrology principles, and deliver accurate, compliant calibration services in laboratory and onsite environments. This position aligns with industry-leading calibration organizations while maintaining ICS's culture of quality, accountability, and long-term customer partnership. Growth opportunities are available for technicians seeking to expand technical depth and responsibility. We are currently located in Aliquippa, PA and will be moving to Pittsburgh towards the end of 2026. Key Responsibilities Perform calibration, adjustment, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and process instrumentation Execute calibration work independently in the laboratory and at customer sites as assigned Apply appropriate measurement techniques, uncertainty concepts, and TAR/TUR principles Accurately complete calibration certificates, reports, and supporting documentation Interpret customer purchase orders, specifications, and technical documentation Coordinate with operations and scheduling staff to meet turnaround commitments Maintain calibration standards, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition Interface professionally with customers to clarify requirements and answer technical questions Assist with training and mentoring of junior technicians as experience allows Identify potential service opportunities during customer interactions and relay internally Support general laboratory operations as required
Qualifications & Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED Hands-on experience in a calibration laboratory, field service, or related technical environment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
Preferred:
Associate degree or technical training in Electronics, Metrology, or Engineering Technology Experience working under ISO/IEC 17025 and/or
ANSI/NCSL Z540
Familiarity with uncertainty budgets, statistics, and multi-discipline calibration Experience with calibration software (MET/CAL, BenchTop, IndySoft, etc.) ASQ CCT/CMT, PMEL, or equivalent military metrology training Skills & Competencies Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical ability Proficiency with electronic and mechanical measurement equipment Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and specifications Clear written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time-management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Customer-focused and professional demeanor Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and handle lab equipment Exposure to electrical equipment and moving mechanical parts Occasional work at customer facilities in industrial or laboratory environments Benefits Offered Paid Holidays Paid Vacations and Sick time 401k Plan Health, Vision, and Dental coverage About Us
