All activities must support the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh ("HACP" or "Authority") mission, strategic goals and objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed. Troubleshoot, repair and maintain fire alarm systems, burglar systems. Maintain security camera systems and intercom systems. Maintain and repair key card locking systems, nurses call and TV monitoring systems and cable systems. Installation and trouble shoot
CAT 5 & 6.
Run surface mount, raceway and conduit. Fiber optic background and fusion/mechanical splicing experience. Education and/or Experience High School diploma plus two years of electronics school with four years of electronics experience or any equivalent combination. Must have working knowledge of related systems for the repair, troubleshooting, enhancements and/or installation of the following: Fire alarm panels, Ademco, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards, FCI, Honeywell Burglar/Security Systems, DSC, Caddx Camera Systems, Decicated Micors, Pelco Panasonic, Sony Door Entry, Keri Systems Intercom, SES, Microm, Mitrone, Tektone Other relates systems as requested. Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Authority's plan. Technical Skills To perform this job successfully, the employee must possess good reading, writing and mathematical abilities. Knowledge of electrical codes. Knowledge of safety rules and practices pertaining to the trade Ability to read and understand blue prints and/or schematics. The employee should have basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs a required by assigned tasks. To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to travel to various Authority properties to oversee maintenance projects. Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching and grasping; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the properties; and attending on-site meetings and off-site meetings. The employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone. The employee must occasionally transport up to 50 pounds. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Position generally works on Authority properties, which may cause the employee to experience a range in temperatures and other weather conditions. The noise level may be loud and the environment may be more hazardous than a standard office environment. This position may be required to work with contractors as well as Authority residents. Employees must have access to 24 hour reliable internet service. Employees must also have reliable transportation to and from work, as well as, to get to and from multiple HACP locations based on business needs and assignments.
