Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot electronic security systems including CCTV, alarms, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and access control systems. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on low voltage wiring, cabling, power supplies, and network connections to ensure optimal system performance. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately assemble and troubleshoot complex security infrastructure. Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, repair hardware or software components, and upgrade existing systems for enhanced security. Collaborate with clients on system design and installation plans, providing expert advice on system capabilities such as remote access software and telecommunication integration. Maintain detailed service records, documentation of system configurations, and incident reports for ongoing support and compliance purposes. Stay current with industry standards including NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations and emerging security technologies to continually improve service quality. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or in a related field within electronic security or telecommunications. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience in low voltage systems. Familiarity with computer networking concepts necessary for configuring networked security devices. Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans for system installation. Hands-on experience with CCTV surveillance equipment, sensors, alarm systems, fire alarms, locks, and remote access software. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools required for cabling, mounting hardware, and system assembly. Knowledge of NEC electrical codes and safety standards relevant to low voltage wiring and construction environments. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex security systems efficiently on-site or remotely.
