• All on board Federal Employees/Technicians within the ALARNG (T32 and T5, Permanent and Excepted Indefinite) Duties Help (1) Uses a wide variety of inspection techniques to inspect standard electronic systems such as radar, radio communicions receivers, and transmitters (single band, UHF and VHF), mobile subscriber equipment (MSE), missile guidance systems, laser range finders, and electronic fire control systems.

In addition, may inspect heavy mobile artillery, small arms, powered support, optical, and other equipment or components of equal or lesser complexity. (2) Conducts inspections, diagnoses nure and extent of equipment malfunction, and as required, performs required maintenance to restore to a serviceable condition various types of tactical computers, radio sets, etc. Uses various types of test equipment such as systems tests sets, frequency meters, standing wave indicors, oscillors, AN/GRM-122s, and other electronic testing devices to inspect equipment and components. Inspects equipment when received to determine repairs needed and parts required. (3) Inspects equipment to determine repairs needed. Utilizes established Maintenance Expenditure Limits (MEL) to evalue economic feasibility of repair(s). Considers a variety of factors such as cost and availability of parts, man-hours, and impact of time constraints on the mission to assess whether repair is economical. Recommends to a higher echelon to condemn equipment when the repair cost exceeds the established MEL. Prepares lists of needed repairs, parts, and man-hours authorized. Performs in-process inspections to assure th equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. Performs final inspection, certifying th equipment is in sisfactory opering condition, or rejects the work and returns the equipment to the repair shop with specific reports prescribing additional repairs (4) Inspects the full range of equipment as described above remote worksites in support of field organizions, field units during field exercise training periods, or before major pieces of equipment are sent for repair to a supporting maintenance facility. Serves as inspector on Command Maintenance Evaluion Teams (COMET) and/or as a member of Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Teams (MAIT). (5) Performs other duties as assigned. : Experience or training which demonstres the applicant's knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schemics.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

Experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions, and applicion of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs th required the use of precision measuring and calibring equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviion meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstres the ability to interpret technical manuals, specificions, and publicions.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE

• Broad knowledge of electronic testing, repair, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to opere complex instruments and testing devices used in the electronics trade.
• Ability to follow complex schemics and trace malfunctions to their source.
• Ability to apply a wide variety of inspection techniques to examine electronic components, assemblies, and systems.
