Hybrid Powertrain OBD Subsystem Engineer -
Contract Location:
Dearborn, MI Pay Rate:
$37.00/hour
Schedule:
Hybrid - 4 Days Onsite Per Week We are seeking a Hybrid Powertrain OBD Subsystem Engineer for a contract opportunity supporting advanced automotive diagnostic systems and hybrid propulsion technologies. This role focuses on developing, validating, and maintaining on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions to meet global regulatory and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and validate OBD diagnostic solutions for hybrid powertrain systems Use Simulink and MATLAB to support requirements analysis, calibration, and diagnostic validation Perform HIL, dynamometer, and on-road testing to evaluate diagnostic performance and sensor functionality Analyze diagnostic data and support calibration activities for powertrain systems Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve software and calibration issues Support product development activities including testing, documentation, and issue tracking using JIRA Create technical documentation, calibration guides, and regulatory support materials Assist with diagnostic analysis using C/C++, Python, and data acquisition tools
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field 2+ years of automotive product development experience, preferably in hybrid propulsion diagnostics Experience reviewing or analyzing C/C++, MATLAB, or Simulink models Strong background in software testing, calibration, data analysis, and engine diagnostics Familiarity with HIL/SIL testing methodologies and diagnostic tools preferred Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
