Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - Multi‑Plant Support Koch | Long‑Term W2 Contract (Remote with Very Limited Travel) Koch is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support multiple operating plants across the Central United States . This is a long‑term, open‑ended W2 contract position offering a remote work‑from‑home arrangement with very limited travel and Blue Cross Blue Shield health benefits , providing both career stability and flexibility. In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource for instrumentation, control systems, and automation—supporting capital projects, plant upgrades, troubleshooting, and safety initiatives across a diverse group of facilities, without being tied to a single site. Why This Role Stands Out Remote work with very limited travel Long‑term, open‑ended W2 contract Blue Cross Blue Shield medical benefits Opportunity to support multiple plants and technologies High‑visibility role influencing safety, reliability, and operational performance What You'll Do Provide instrumentation and controls engineering support to multiple operating plants Design, modify, and support field instrumentation, control systems, and automation solutions Develop and maintain P&IDs, instrument data sheets, instrument loop diagrams, wiring details, and I/O documentation Support PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, including I/O configuration and system architecture Develop control narratives, logic diagrams, and cause‑and‑effect documentation Specify and select instruments for pressure, flow, temperature, level, density, and analytical measurements Support hazardous area classification and specify appropriately rated instrumentation Participate in PHAs, MOCs, PSSRs, commissioning, startups, and incident investigations Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues impacting plant operations Develop instrumentation and control procurement packages and evaluate vendor proposals Coordinate with plant operations, maintenance teams, project managers, contractors, and EPC firms Recommend and implement improvements to control strategies, system performance, and reliability What We're Looking For 5+ years of industrial instrumentation and controls engineering experience Experience supporting operating plants, preferably across multiple facilities Strong knowledge of field instrumentation, control systems, and hazardous area practices Hands‑on experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA, instrument loops, panel wiring, and I/O termination Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, control logic, and technical documentation Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent applicable experience Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
