Companies such as Siemens Energy, GE Vernova, Mitsubishi Power, and Solar Turbines often seek candidates with this combination of NX administration, library development, and engineering standards experience. Power Generation / Gas Turbine industry preferred. The Siemens NX Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, governance, and continuous improvement of the Siemens NX CAD environment supporting engineering, design, manufacturing, and product lifecycle management activities. This role serves as the technical owner of NX standards, libraries, templates, and specifications, ensuring efficient design workflows and data integrity across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in the power generation, gas turbine, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing sectors and possess the ability to develop and maintain a robust NX component library, engineering standards, and design specifications that support complex engineered products.
Key Responsibilities:
NX Administration & Support Administer and maintain Siemens NX CAD environments, configurations, licenses, and user access. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for NX users, engineering teams, and manufacturing personnel. Coordinate software upgrades, testing, deployment, and validation activities. Develop and maintain NX installation packages, configuration files, and user settings. Manage CAD system performance and ensure compliance with company IT and cybersecurity requirements. NX Library Development & Management Develop, organize, and maintain standardized NX libraries including: Standard parts Fasteners Purchased components Gas turbine components Power generation equipment Weldments Structural steel components Electrical and instrumentation components Establish metadata structures and naming conventions. Create and maintain reusable design features and parametric models. Develop engineering templates and drafting standards. Standards & Specifications Build and maintain NX design standards aligned with:
ASME ANSI ISO API ASTM
Customer-specific requirements Develop drafting standards, title blocks, layer management, and model-based definition (MBD) practices. Create engineering workflows, procedures, and best practices documentation. Drive standardization initiatives across engineering disciplines. Engineering Data Management Support CAD data management and integration with: Siemens Teamcenter PLM systems ERP systems Ensure CAD data integrity, revision control, and configuration management. Develop workflows for engineering change notices (ECNs) and design release processes. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through automation. Develop NX journals, scripts, macros, and automation tools. Implement best practices for model creation, assemblies, drafting, and manufacturing deliverables. Lead CAD standardization and continuous improvement initiatives. Training & Mentoring Train engineering personnel on NX standards and best practices. Develop user guides and training materials. Serve as the primary CAD subject matter expert for engineering teams.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Design, or related field. 5+ years of Siemens NX administration experience. Strong knowledge of NX modeling, assemblies, drafting, and PMI/MBD. Experience developing and maintaining NX libraries, templates, and engineering standards. Experience supporting large engineering organizations. Understanding of configuration management and revision control practices. Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in: Power Generation Gas Turbine Manufacturing Steam Turbines Rotating Equipment Oil & Gas Equipment Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Experience supporting engineering organizations designing: Turbine components Combustion systems Pressure vessels Heat exchangers Piping systems Structural systems Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code and related industry standards. Experience with NX Open, Python, C#, or VB scripting. Experience implementing Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) initiatives.
