This role requires a thorough understanding of fiber optic network design as well as proficiency in GIS-based platforms (examples include 3GIS, ArcGIS, and/or Vetro). Duties/Responsibilities Plan and design OSP fiber optic networks including route analysis, network topology, fiber allocation, and other detailed engineering. Utilize Vetro Fibermaps and other tools to create and manage fiber network designs including mapping, splicing reports, and other documentation. Ensure designs are optimized for scalability, cost efficiency, constructability, and long-term maintainability. Verify and prepare engineering maps, specification, and bills of materials using Vetro Fibermaps and other programs Provide troubleshooting support to resolve issues related to network design and deployment Ensure all designs and plans adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices Position Requirements 2+ years of progressive experience in fiber network engineering Proven expertise in large-scale fiber design, route planning, permitting, and construction-ready deliverables. Strong understanding of GIS applications, CAD tools, asset management systems, and engineering workflows. Vetro experience is a plus. Experience working with internal teams and third-party engineering vendors. Knowledge of permitting processes, regulatory requirements, and compliance for fiber deployments. Experience with or the ability to learn Microsoft Office/365 and other programs such as Asana Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Work Schedule Requirements:
40 hours/week. Hybrid schedule - 3 Days In, 2 Days Out. Office and project locations based on business needs. Travel 0% Other Requirements Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
