Wenger Corporation is seeking an Automation Technician to join our Cranston, RI team. As an Automation Technician, you will contribute to Wenger Corporation's strategy to provide an exceptional customer experience by building, testing, and repairing automated machinery and control panels that are sold to live entertainment customers that make some of the most engaging effects around the world. In addition, our Automation Technicians assist in the preparation and maintenance of rental equipment to achieve the same result, but in a more temporary fashion. At a minimum, you'll need: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent, two (2) years related experience
Proficiency using hand and power tools
Strong technical skills in either mechanical or electrical fabrication
Strong troubleshooting skills working with machinery and electronic controls
Maintain a positive attitude as priorities shift
Motivated and capable of managing deadlines
Proficiency with typical office software, preferably Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) As an Automation Technician, a typical day may include: Mechanical:
Manufacture precision machine components from aluminum, steel, and plastic using conventional and CNC milling and turning techniques
Fabricate machine components from aluminum, steel, and plastic using conventional metalworking tools (drill press, band saw, press, etc.)
Assemble new machinery
Test and repair new machinery
Prepare, test, and repair equipment Electrical:
Wire control panels
Solder printed circuit boards
Assemble cables and wiring harnesses
Test and repair new control panels and cables
Prepare, test, and repair equipment
Prototype new control devices Additional Responsibilities:
