Job Description

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electronics and Instrumentation Technician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, and calibrating a variety of low voltage (<42 V) equipment used in the monitoring, testing, and operation of the plant and related facilities. Install, maintain, and calibrate a variety of specialized low-voltage (<42 V) instrumentation and equipment used in the monitoring, testing, and operation of treatment plants and related facilities. Coordinate with Inventory Control personnel to maintain the inventory of parts and supplies required for continued plant and facility operation. Performs preventative maintenance and repair on specialized instrumentation and equipment within plant property and at remote facilities. Maintains appropriate records, logs and reports regarding daily activities, operational concerns, changes to equipment and/or settings, and maintenance / repair needs. Evaluate trends of instrumentation data to determine calibration needs, data accuracy, and/or potential issues with instrumentation functionality. Works with NBC staff, vendors, tech support, and contractors to ensure the instrumentation and monitoring equipment is operating properly. Solicits quotes from vendors on instrumentation purchase needs. Provides general oversite to vendors working on site having impact on instrumentation equipment Performs research on alternative electronics and instruments used in monitoring plant operations and recommends alternative methods as appropriate.
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
One year of experience in wastewater process control and instrumentation repair; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Experience working with 4-20 mA current loops, pressure calibrators and multimeters is preferred
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
: Installing and calibrating electronics and instrumentation; Following applicable safety principles Proficient using pressure calibrators, multimeters, and temperature standards; General knowledge of wastewater treatment plant process; Knowledge of electronics and instrumentation equipment used in wastewater process control. Basic mechanical and repair principles; Preventative maintenance principles and practices used in process control equipment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
: Grade I Waste Water Treatment Operator License within one year of employment. Valid Driver's License in good standing.
