Job Description

Summary:
Northern Biogas designs, builds, owns, and operates Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities. The I&E Technician is a hands-on, on-site role that supports the electrical systems/equipment, instrumentation and measurement required for the daily operation of these facilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance and assisting the on-site Operations and Maintenance Technician's as needed. Experience in maintenance, manufacturing, landfill, or other industrial environments is strongly preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and performing as-needed repairs on the following: instrumentation, measurement devices, electrical equipment, DCS/PLC equipment and telecommunications Assist the Operations and Maintenance Technicians with identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing process equipment as needed. Types of equipment include natural gas compressors, pumps, valves, air coolers, and related systems. Follow site-specific safety procedures and comply with OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Coordinate with vendors and contractors to complete on-site work, such as calibrations and maintenance for measurement devices Monitor plant operational reports and meter performance. Intervene proactively to correct measurement errors. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and supervisory teams to improve facility reliability and throughput. Operate equipment such as UTVs, ATVs, forklifts, skid steers, and snowplows. Be available for limited weekend work and emergency call-ins as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Proficient in computer use including MS Office products; experience with
DCS/SCADA
system software and PLC logic programming is a plus Regularly bend, stoop, climb between levels, lift up to 50 lbs., and manually move loads up to 75 lbs. Willingness to work outdoors up to 75% of each workday. Be available for on-call hours & limited weekend hours.
Desired Skills:
Experience in maintenance, landfill operations, natural gas, chemical plant operations, industrial gas operations, and/or power plant operations is a plus. Experience with rotating and fixed equipment is a plus Troubleshooting and commissioning experience in an industrial application Good problem solving skills to identify, troubleshoot and safely resolve issues to keep the RNG plant running reliably and at capacity.
