Job Description
Overview Under limited supervision, assists with review of project plans and specifications. Communicates with engineers, developers, contractors and GMD staff to ensure conformance with GMD requirements and other regulations. Assists with creating, reviewing, and approving all types of documents. Assists with inspections and other field work. Responsibilities Use
ARCMAP GIS
software for site analysis and layout planning. Provide printed and electronic maps for field use by others. Assist in tracking projects in all phases of construction, including preliminary sewer availability requests, SCDES permitting, construction, and final documentation and acceptance. Respond to sewer availability requests and tap applications for new residential and commercial sewer taps. Inspect residential and commercial sewer taps upon installation and coordinate acceptance with city/county building inspectors. Maintain GMD Design Manual including specifications and details. Review owner/developer plan submittals for conformance to SCDES Regulations and GMD Design Manual. Use management software for engineering department data and assist other GMD departments in data collection and analysis. Interacts with the public and provides technical guidance related to sewer service and GMD requirements. Operates a variety of equipment such as a computer, calculator, telephone, copier, fax machine, laboratory instruments and samplers, and tools etc. Interacts with supervisors, co-workers, industry representatives, technicians, consultants, engineers, regulatory agencies, local governments, and the public. Perform office administration such as writing letters, developing spreadsheets, entering data, using email, using electric calendars, creating schedules and similar duties using Microsoft Office or other provided applications. All employees are required to respond to work needs at any time including natural disasters, emergencies, and mandatory overtime. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience Associate's degree in engineering technology, construction technology or another related field; required. 3 to 5 years of experience in a related field; preferred AtuoCAD (basic 2D drawings) AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.Pay:
