Monday-Friday Job Overview:
Insight Global is seeking an Industrial Automation Technician for a top manufacturing client supporting advanced industrial operations. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting complex electrical and automation systems across the facility, including PLCs, robotics, motors, MCCs, and control systems. The Automation Technician will play a critical role in minimizing downtime through advanced diagnostics and proactive maintenance strategies, while supporting continuous improvement, safety, and production efficiency in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Day-to-Day:
Maintain and support all electrical and automation equipment within the facility Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, robotics, motors, inverters, and control systems Support MCCs, switchgear, panels, and electrical infrastructure Respond to equipment downtime and perform advanced diagnostics Execute preventive and condition-based maintenance activities Develop and improve maintenance plans to increase uptime Manage and document work orders supporting process changes Ensure all work aligns with safety, quality, and productivity standards
Must-Haves:
Manufacturing or industrial environment experience Strong PLC troubleshooting and automation experience Electrical troubleshooting experience (circuits, panels, motors) Experience with MCCs, switchgear, inverters, controls, and sensors Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting to minimize downtime Preventive and condition-based maintenance experience
Plusses:
Robotics troubleshooting and support experience Conveyor systems experience AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) exposure CNC equipment experience Experience developing proactive maintenance plans Work order management experience tied to process improvements
Pay:
$32.00 - $38.00 per hour
