Working under immediate supervisor and achieving technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician
Performing a variety of complex technical functions in support of engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical systems as well as experimental design circuitry, prototype models, and/or specialized test equipment
Establishing procedures for the maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities
Soldering electrical components to assemble circuit cards
Packaging electronic components neatly for storage
Recording part numbers (and serial numbers) of components removed
Assisting in the operation and use of advanced Circuit Card Assembly reverse engineering and assembly tools
Keeping the lab organized and clean
Performing such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronics equipment
Assisting technical staff members in fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic circuits and mechanical packaging including the development of electrical and mechanical prototypes
Executing test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment; may conduct engineering tests and experimental testing
Following procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various system arrangements
Performing circuit card assembly utilizing hand soldering techniques with provided schematics, drawings and documentation
Taking test readings using common instruments such as multi-meter, time-domain reflectometer, and optical time-domain reflectometer
Assisting engineering staff members in design, fabrication, integration and testing of electronic circuits and mechanical packaging including the development of electrical and mechanical prototypes
Performing detailed design tasks requiring the application of CAD equipment
Designing projects such as simulation, printed circuit boards, and electronic and electrical assemblies requiring development of schematics
Performing on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of company products and equipment
Providing technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
Interpreting cable block diagram, cable run sheets, and other engineering products related to various C4I projects
Establishing procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various system arrangements
Training laboratory personnel to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment #LI-JC1 Requirements Minimum of a two-year technical degree and three or more years work related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be capable of assembling/disassembling a variety of equipment (mechanical, electrical and electronic) with minimal supervision
Ability to perform such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronics equipment
Attention to detail is required in recording electronics part numbers and serial numbers for logisticians to track inventory
Ability to identify and resolve underlying causes of system failures to prevent recurrence, using structured
Familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgement in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices Desired Skills Previous electronics integration or practical mechanical, electrical, or electronic experience
Familiarity with computer components and servers
Knowledge to understand analog and digital electronics, electronic components
Experience operating milling machine, laser engraver, reflow oven, wave solder, flying probe
