Laser Fabrication Specialist

Althea Metal Fabrication, LLC is a rapidly growing job shop and contract manufacturer, located in Collierville, TN . We are seeking a Laser Operator to join our team. As a rapidly growing company, we need team members that will do what it takes to get the job done, including helping in other areas of the shop. Proper candidates must be punctual, diligent, have a good attitude, and be eager to learn. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work with multiple measuring tools and make precise measurements using metric and US measuring systems, which requires strong math skills. Competitive hourly rate based on experience. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Constant attention to safety, particularly Laser safety Understand and execute to a set of specified instructions (sequenced based control, work instructions, print reading, drawings, et cetera) Execute proper start-up, shut-down and maintenance of machine Load, set-up, and run Amada laser to planned programs & job nests. Evaluate, correct, and take actions necessary to prevent external quality (size & defects) issues Select (grinders, abrasives, etc.) and utilize a variety of metal finishing tools to meet specified surface requirements Operate a forklift Utilize a variety of material control devices (fixtures, templates, etc.) Work responsibly and safely at all times.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED At least 2 years experience running/programming a sheet metal laser required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
