Position Summary The Manufacturing Controls PLC Technician is responsible for installing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated systems within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across production operations. This position will work M-F
  • 2pm to 10:30 pm, (May require occasional Saturday or in event of emergencies) Please note: This position does not offer relocation assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facility equipment. Install, program, and maintain PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron). Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and automation-related issues on production equipment. Diagnose faults in control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and networking components. Modify and update PLC logic to improve machine efficiency and reliability. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on automated systems. Support production teams by responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime. Interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and technical manuals. Assist with commissioning new equipment and system upgrades. Maintain accurate documentation of system changes, repairs, and maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies. Collaborate with engineers, maintenance staff, and production personnel to improve processes. Train other personnel Required Qualifications Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment. 3+ years of Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting Strong understanding of electrical systems, including 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics. Experience with HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.). Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes. Preferred Qualifications Experience with robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA). Knowledge of motion control systems and servo drives. Familiarity with industrial networking and cybersecurity practices. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). OSHA safety training or certification. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Must be willing to be on call due to operations 24/7.

Work Environment The Electrician works in a manufacturing plant environment with moderate to loud noise levels and exposure to dust, heat, and occasional outdoor conditions. The area may contain moving machinery and uneven surfaces. Appropriate PPE including safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection must be always worn. The role requires constant attention to safety, cleanliness, and coordination with team members to ensure efficient operations.
