Fiber Optic Technician

Responsibilities:

Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling (single mode and multi-mode) Perform fiber splicing (fusion and mechanical) and OTDR testing Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic links and networks Read and interpret fiber optic system blueprints, layouts, and splice diagrams Install fiber patch panels, enclosures, and related infrastructure Work safely on ladders/lifts (comfortable with heights) Support additional low voltage systems as needed at commercial and industrial sites (schools, hospitals, offices, warehouses, etc.)

Requirements:

3+ years of commercial fiber optic installation/splicing experience Experience with OTDR, power meter, and fiber test equipment Working knowledge of telecom and data networks BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications a plus Manufacturer or FOA (Fiber Optic Association) certifications a plus Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots) Willingness to travel to job sites within Texas as needed Why Work with Next Level Technician in Abilene TX?
