Fiber Splicing Technician (contract)

Job Title:

Fiber Optic Ribbon Splicers & Helpers (Immediate Start)

Location:

Abilene, TX We are currently hiring experienced ribbon splicers and entry-level helpers for a high-priority data center project in Abilene, Texas. This is an 8-week contract , with continued opportunities as we transition to additional data center projects in new cities.

Compensation Pay:

$19-$23/hour (based on experience)

Overtime:

~17.5 hours per week expected

Pay Type:

1099 (independent contractor)

Weekly Job Overview This is precision-based, high-stakes fiber optic work inside a data center environment. The work requires extreme attention to detail and care. Fiber integrity is critical — no fibers can be damaged or broken . This is some of the most delicate and detail-oriented work in the field. Responsibilities Perform ribbon splicing (for experienced candidates) Assist with fiber prep, organization, and support tasks (helpers) Maintain strict quality and safety standards Work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-driven environment Follow all data center protocols and procedures Requirements Must be available to start immediately Must have required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for data center access Strong attention to detail and steady hands Ability to work extended hours, including overtime Reliable and professional work ethic Additional Information This project will run for approximately 8 weeks, after which crews will move to the next data center location for continued work.
