Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across various manufacturing and engineering environments. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of complex electrical components, contributing to the efficiency and safety of our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced setting, supporting innovative projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Duties Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, schematics, and control panels using hand tools, multimeters (Ohmmeters), and specialized testing equipment. Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures to identify underlying issues and implement effective solutions. Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layouts, AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks models to guide installation and repairs. Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and scripting solutions using Python or other relevant languages for automation tasks. Support manufacturing processes by soldering surface mount technology (SMT) components onto PCBs and assembling electrical assemblies with precision. Assist in project scheduling, equipment repair, and upgrades by collaborating with engineering teams to meet deadlines. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including schematics updates, maintenance logs, and compliance records in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Use mechanical knowledge alongside electrical expertise to support equipment repair and system integration efforts. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes while adhering to best practices in electrical wiring and system installation. Experience Proven experience working with electrical systems in manufacturing or industrial settings. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, schematics interpretation, and circuit design. Hands-on experience with PCB design, assembly, debugging, and surface mount technology (SMT). Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation or SolidWorks for designing or modifying electrical layouts. Experience programming PLCs using scripting languages like Python or ladder logic for automation purposes. Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical issues through root cause analysis techniques. Ability to read technical drawings including schematics and wiring diagrams accurately. Mechanical aptitude combined with electrical experience for comprehensive equipment maintenance and repair tasks. Proficiency using hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, soldering irons for assembly tasks. Knowledge of industry standards including NEC regulations to ensure safe installation practices.
