Job Description

Job Summary:
The Instructor for Instrumentation's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing instruction for students enrolled in Instrumentation courses (along with other related courses and topics) in the Industrial and Engineering Technology department, including dual credit high school students. This individual is also responsible for maintaining office hours; and teaching extended day classes, and hybrid/online courses, as required, both on campus and at alternate locations. This individual helps coordinate and attend advisory committee meetings; attends workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade teaching skills; assists in the development of curriculum, as needed; and maintain program computer labs. All LIT faculty are responsible for recruitment and retention as a part of achieving the Institute's Shared Vision of Growth and Excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively engage students in the learning process Maintain ethical and professional behavior Maintain knowledge of an adherence to the policies and procedures contained in the TSUS and LIT Policies and Procedures Manual Maintain office hours Teach day and/or evening classes and labs during the fall, spring, and summer semesters as required by the department Help coordinate and attend advisory committee meetings Attend Teaching and Learning Center to upgrade teaching skills Assist in the development of curriculum as needed Willing to develop skills necessary to teach on-line courses Responsible for maintaining and setting up equipment related to the Utility Line Program Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Associate degree in instrumentation Demonstrated recent industry experience (within 5 years) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies Possess good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work well in a team environment Possess good time management skills •Salary is commensurate, and is dependent upon education and years of experience.
