Job Description The Automation Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of field automation systems and communication infrastructure for oil and gas operations. This role works closely with production, operations, measurement, and engineering teams to ensure reliable performance of automation equipment, SCADA systems, and remote communication devices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with TotalFlow and/or ROC systems, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment. Positions are available on both rotational and standard work schedules. ResponsibilitiesAutomation & Controls Support Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair field automation equipment and communication systems. Support operation and maintenance of TotalFlow and/or ROC systems. Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot RTUs, PLCs, transmitters, and related instrumentation. Monitor and maintain SCADA communications and field network reliability. Assist with programming updates, configuration changes, and system upgrades. Field Operations Support Support production and operations teams with automation-related troubleshooting and optimization. Diagnose communication failures, alarm conditions, and instrumentation issues. Maintain accurate documentation of automation assets, configurations, and field changes. Coordinate with field personnel and contractors during installations and maintenance activities. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with operational procedures. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automation and communication systems. Troubleshoot power systems, radios, communication networks, and control equipment. Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve system issues. Support startup, commissioning, and testing of new field equipment. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety policies, procedures, and environmental guidelines. Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and field audits. Maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards for field operations and communications equipment. Skills TotalFlow systems ROC systems SCADA systems RTU and PLC troubleshooting Field instrumentation Automation system maintenance Communication systems and radios Electrical troubleshooting Network and telemetry systems Preventative maintenance Diagnostic and problem-solving skills Technical documentation Independent field operations Strong communication and teamwork skills Qualifications 3-5 years of automation, instrumentation, or oilfield controls experience preferred. Experience with TotalFlow and/or ROC systems strongly preferred. Experience supporting oil and gas production operations preferred. Working knowledge of SCADA systems, RTUs, PLCs, and field communications. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently in a field-based environment. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence. Ability to work rotational or standard schedules as required.
Job Details Pay:
WD with Truck = $30-45 1099 =$70
Location:
Carrizzo Springs, TX Schedule:
The first available position is an 8 on / 6 off schedule. Wednesday to Wednesday. The second position is a standard Monday-Friday schedule.
Pay:
$30.00 - $70.00 per hour
