Job Title:
IT Technician & Motherboard Micro-Soldering Specialist Job Summary We are seeking a skilled IT Technician with specialized experience in motherboard diagnostics and micro-soldering. This role focuses on repairing computer motherboards at the component level, requiring precision work, strong troubleshooting ability, and a deep understanding of electronic circuits. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop motherboards at the component level Perform micro-soldering on components such as IC chips, capacitors, resistors, MOSFETs, and connectors Identify and resolve issues related to power circuits, short circuits, and signal failures Read and interpret schematics, boardviews, and circuit diagrams Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal cameras, and microscopes Replace damaged ports (USB, HDMI, charging ports), BIOS chips, and other onboard components Perform BIOS flashing, firmware updates, and board-level reprogramming when needed Test and validate repairs to ensure full functionality and stability Maintain detailed repair logs and documentation Follow ESD safety standards and proper handling procedures for sensitive components Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience with motherboard repair and micro-soldering Strong understanding of electronic components and circuit behavior Ability to troubleshoot power rails, shorts, and board-level faults Experience reading schematics and boardview files Proficiency with soldering stations, hot air rework stations, and microscopes High attention to detail and steady hand for precision work Strong problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with laptop and desktop motherboard repair (Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.) Knowledge of common motherboard failure patterns Certifications (CompTIA A+ or similar) are a plus Experience with data recovery or advanced diagnostics tools Work Environment Electronics repair lab or service center Requires working with delicate components under magnification and handling sensitive equipment
Pay:
$16.00 - $25.00 per hour
