Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Fiber Technician will play a critical role in ensuring reliable telecommunication services for our clients. Duties Install and configure fiber optic cabling systems for residential and commercial clients. Conduct network installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment, including ohmmeters, to test and troubleshoot fiber optic connections. Perform routine maintenance on existing fiber networks to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with service technicians to diagnose issues related to network connectivity and resolve them efficiently. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding installation processes and timelines. Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls. Skills Proficiency in telecommunication practices, including low voltage installation techniques. Experience with cabling systems, particularly fiber optics, is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge to operate hand tools safely and effectively. Familiarity with Cisco routers and networking equipment is a plus. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve project goals. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting network issues. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
