Houston, TX 770 92 Direct Hire opportunity with career growth and stability Job Description Our client, a n established engineering and manufacturing company serving the energy sector, is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to join their team. The Engineering Test Technician is responsible for preparing, scheduling, and conducting mechanical testing of oilfield equipment and engineering products under the direction of engineers. This role involves staging test equipment, maintaining test fixtures and inventory, collecting and documenting test results, troubleshooting issues, and supporting validation testing in a manufacturing and laboratory environment.
Responsibilities :
Prepare equipment and materials for upcoming engineering tests. Schedule and coordinate testing activities. Stage, organize, and maintain testing equipment and fixtures. Conduct mechanical and laboratory testing under the direction of engineering personnel. Collect, document, and record test results for analysis and reporting. Assist with troubleshooting and identifying solutions to technical issues. Support validation testing and other test lab operations. Collaborate with engineers and technical staff to ensure accurate testing procedures. Maintain inventory of testing tools, fixtures, and related equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical instructions. Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and quality standards. Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe. Assist with additional engineering support and testing projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience with oilfield equipment, downhole tools, or related mechanical systems preferred. Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and technical documents. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including percentages, measurements, area, volume, and basic algebra. Familiarity with computer systems, email, and basic software applications. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work under moderate supervision. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple testing activities and priorities. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and technical teams. Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and established procedures. Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working around machinery, manufacturing equipment, and in a moderately loud industrial environment.
