Job Description

Network Cabling Services (NCS) is seeking Experienced Fiber Optic Technicians to support commercial, industrial, and data center projects throughout the Houston area and surrounding regions. This position requires travel and hands-on experience with fiber installation, testing, troubleshooting, and data center environments.
Responsibilities:
Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables Terminate fiber using LC, ST, and SC connectors Conduct fiber testing using OTDRs and power meters Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic issues in the field Install, route, and manage fiber cabling within data centers Ensure all work meets industry quality and safety standards Maintain accurate documentation and testing records Travel to project sites as required
Required Data Center Experience:
Experience working in live or critical data center environments Knowledge of structured cabling systems, including fiber and copper Familiarity with: Rack and stack installations Cable tray and ladder rack systems Patch panels and cross-connects Ability to follow strict access procedures and change management protocols Understanding of TIA-942 standards and data center best practices

Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in: Fiber splicing (Required) Fiber termination (Required) Fiber testing using OTDRs and power meters Proven data center experience (Required) Working knowledge of BICSI, EIA/TIA, NEC, and TIA-942 standards Valid Driver's License (Required)
Work Environment:
Commercial, industrial, and data center job sites Multiple project locations Travel required based on business and project needs
Pay:
$18.00 - $30.00 per hour
