Full Job Description Job Overview:
The Optical Fabrication Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the manufacturing and assembly of optical components. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to quality.Key Responsibilities:
Optical Component Fabrication:
Fabricate, grind, polish, and inspect optical components such as lenses, mirrors, prisms, and windows according to specifications and quality standards.Machine Operation:
Operate precision machining equipment, including CNC machines, lathes, polishers, and metrology instruments, to achieve desired optical surface finishes and geometries.Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough inspections of fabricated components using metrology tools such as interferometers, profilometers, and optical instruments.Troubleshooting:
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to optical fabrication processes, equipment malfunctions, and product defects, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of fabrication processes, inspection results, and equipment maintenance activities in compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment, and comply with all relevant regulations and standards governing optical fabrication processes.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.. Strong understanding of optical principles and surface characteristics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
