Adjunct HVAC & Electrical Instructor Confidential Irving, TX 75017 From $27 an hour - Full-time From $27 an hour - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Adjunct HVAC & Electrical Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will deliver engaging instruction in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration (R), electrical systems, and related trades. Your expertise will help prepare students for successful careers in industries such as manufacturing, construction, automotive repair, aircraft maintenance, plumbing, welding, and maintenance. This position offers a flexible teaching schedule and the opportunity to inspire future professionals by sharing your real-world experience and technical skills. Duties Deliver comprehensive classroom instruction on HVAC/R systems, electrical theory, mechanical knowledge, and industry best practices Develop and update curriculum materials aligned with industry standards and certification requirements Facilitate hands-on training sessions using industry-standard tools and equipment including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation devices Assess student progress through tests, practical demonstrations, and projects; provide constructive feedback to support learning Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing OSHA safety standards and best practices in all instructional activities Incorporate adult education principles to engage diverse learners effectively Collaborate with colleagues to enhance program offerings and ensure curriculum relevance to current industry trends Requirements Proven experience in HVAC/R systems, electrical work, automotive diagnostics, or related fields such as manufacturing or aircraft maintenance Strong mechanical knowledge with practical experience in plumbing, welding, electrical troubleshooting, or maintenance roles Prior classroom experience or training in adult education is highly desirable Familiarity with industry tools including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Blackboard learning management system, and other instructional technologies Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and standards applicable to technical trades Ability to develop curriculum content that meets industry certification requirements and prepares students for certification exams Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly and effectively Join us in shaping the next generation of skilled tradespeople!
