Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K and more The Automation Integrator II is responsible for integrating, commissioning, maintaining, and optimizing automation systems that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and safety of oil and gas production facilities. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operations, engineering, instrumentation, and maintenance teams to ensure automation solutions meet business and operational requirements. We are seeking an experienced [strong data-start="390" data-end="418"]Automation Integrator II to support automation, controls, and digital field technologies across our operations in the Permian Basin. This position is based at the Kermit Main Field Office and follows a 14/14 rotational schedule. Primary Responsibilities:
Design, configure, integrate, and support automation and control systems for upstream oil and gas facilities. Analyze operational requirements and recommend automation solutions that improve production efficiency, equipment reliability, and process safety. Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot PLC, RTU, HMI, and SCADA systems. Develop and maintain control logic, communication architectures, and automation documentation. Support field instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical devices. Configure and maintain industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, DNP3, and related networking technologies. Collaborate with production operations, facility engineering, and maintenance personnel to identify automation improvement opportunities. Perform root cause analysis and provide technical support for automation and control system issues. Ensure automation systems comply with company standards, cybersecurity requirements, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Maintain accurate records of programming changes, system modifications, and commissioning activities. Participate in capital projects, facility startups, system upgrades, and expansion activities. Support alarm management, data acquisition, and reporting initiatives to improve operational visibility. Provide after-hours technical support as required during assigned work rotations. Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in Automation Technology, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent field experience may be considered. 3+ years of experience supporting industrial automation systems in oil and gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, or related industries. Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or similar platforms). Experience with SCADA systems, HMI development, and industrial networking. Strong understanding of instrumentation, process controls, and automation architecture. Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, loop drawings, and control narratives. Ability to troubleshoot complex automation and communication issues in field environments. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. [strong data-start="3513" data-end="3527"]Preferred Experience in upstream oil and gas production operations. Familiarity with Ignition, Wonderware, CygNet, AVEVA, or similar SCADA platforms. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for industrial control systems. Experience with wireless communications, radio systems, and remote telemetry applications. ISA certifications or other automation-related certifications. Work Environment Primarily field-based position supporting production facilities across the Permian Basin. Frequent travel to field locations, well sites, compressor stations, tank batteries, and central facilities. Exposure to varying weather conditions and industrial environments. Must be able to work safely around operating oil and gas equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform field inspections in outdoor environments.
