Automation Integrator II Location:

14 days on / 14 days off Overview:
Oxy is looking for an experienced Automation Integrator II to support automation, controls, and digital field technologies. This role focuses on improving the efficiency, reliability, and safety of oil & gas production facilities. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and support automation and control systems for upstream operations Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot PLC, RTU, HMI, and SCADA systems Develop and maintain control logic, communication networks, and system documentation Support field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, etc.) Configure industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, DNP3) Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance to identify improvement opportunities Troubleshoot automation issues and perform root cause analysis Ensure systems meet safety, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements Support capital projects, facility startups, upgrades, and expansions Maintain documentation for system changes and commissioning activities Assist with alarm management, data reporting, and operational visibility Provide on-call/after-hours technical support during rotation Required Qualifications Associate degree (or higher) in Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical/Computer Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of industrial automation experience (oil & gas, petrochemical, or manufacturing) Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.) Experience with SCADA systems, HMI development, and industrial networking Strong understanding of instrumentation, process controls, and automation systems Ability to read P&IDs, loop drawings, and control narratives Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Experience in upstream oil & gas production Familiarity with SCADA platforms (Ignition, Wonderware, CygNet, AVEVA) Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity practices Experience with wireless/radio communications and remote telemetry ISA or other automation certifications Work Environment Primarily field-based across Permian Basin facilities Frequent travel to well sites, compressor stations, and production facilities Exposure to outdoor conditions and industrial environments Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work around operating equipment Key Skills Safety leadership Automation system integration Troubleshooting & diagnostics Process optimization Project execution Team collaboration Continuous improvement With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
