JOB DESCRIPTION
The job is in 3 locations Lewisville, TX San Antonio, TX Denver, CO Responsibilities Service the complete range of shelving and high-density mobile systems, and automated storage products, including the Spacesaver and Kardex Remstar product lines. Lead advanced troubleshooting and repair of Vertical Lift Modules (Kardex, Modula, Hänel, or similar systems) Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC-controlled storage and retrieval systems, including lifts, shuttles, and conveyors Work with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley (CompactLogix / ControlLogix) and OEM proprietary VLM control systems Perform live PLC edits, parameter adjustments, and system optimizations Maintain and troubleshoot motor drives, encoders, sensors, safety circuits, and industrial networks including EtherNet/IP and Profinet Support system upgrades, installations, and integrations with WMS/WCS platforms Works safely, wears required PPE, and follows OSHA requirements. Address and resolve service-related inquiries. Ensure the job site is ready and well-maintained, covering safety compliance, cleanup, parking, equipment procurement, power supply, and materials. Inspects materials on-site upon arrival for damage, shortages, quality problems, etc., prior to service/installation. Ensures proper maintenance of tools and company vehicles. Maintain a record of job progress, daily expenses, hours worked, and problems encountered on site. Coordinates project-specific responsibilities with the Service Manager, including labor force, equipment, material handling requirements, deliveries, etc. Develop a service plan prior to arriving on the job site. Alert the Project Manager of any problems. Qualifications 3-7+ years of PLC troubleshooting experience in automated environments Hands-on experience with automated material handling systems including VLMs, ASRS, conveyors, or robotics Ability to read and interpret ladder logic during real-time troubleshooting scenarios Ability to diagnose electromechanical issues quickly and accurately Strong experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs Experience with HMI systems such as FactoryTalk, PanelView, or OEM interfaces Knowledge of electrical systems including 480V, 24V controls, sensors, and I/O Experience with Spacesaver, Kardex Remstar, Wirecrafters High School diploma or equivalent combined with one year of mechanical, technical, or construction experience. Must be able to travel. Knowledge of construction, electrical systems, blueprint reading, machine operation, and hand tool use. Experience in computer-aided automation systems and inventory management is a plus. Good organizational and follow-through skills. Customer-facing experience. Solid PC familiarity, including Microsoft Office applications. Must have a valid Driver's License Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
