Job Description

Job Overview Our client, a leading manufacturer of fiber optic connectivity solutions serving the aerospace, defense, telecommunications, and industrial industries, is seeking 2nd Shift Fiber Optic Cable Assembly Operators to join their production team. This role involves assembling, testing, and inspecting fiber optic cables with precision and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assemble fiber optic cable assemblies, patch cords, harnesses, and connectorized products according to work instructions and engineering drawings. Prepare, strip, terminate, polish, and inspect fiber optic cables and connectors. Operate polishing equipment and other assembly tools used in fiber optic manufacturing. Perform visual inspections and quality checks on finished products. Read and interpret assembly drawings, specifications, and work orders. Maintain accurate production and quality records. Follow established manufacturing procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards. Troubleshoot minor assembly issues and report equipment or process problems to supervisors. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Support continuous improvement initiatives and production goals. Qualifications Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Previous experience in fiber optic assembly, cable assembly, electronics manufacturing, or wire harness assembly. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Previous experience in fiber optic assembly, cable assembly, electronics manufacturing, or wire harness assembly. Ability to read and follow written instructions and assembly drawings. Basic computer and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform repetitive assembly tasks. Preferred Experience with fiber termination, polishing, and inspection processes. Familiarity with IPC standards or quality manufacturing environments. Knowledge of fiber optic connectors, MPO/MTP systems, and optical testing equipment.
Pay:
From $19.50 per hour
