POSITION SUMMARY
: Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation in a chemical manufacturing environment while serving as the lead technical resource for the I&E team. This role includes coordinating daily work, developing job plans, mentoring technicians, and ensuring safe, efficient execution of maintenance activities. Lead daily instrumentation and electrical maintenance activities and provide technical guidance to team members. Plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance work, including preparing job scopes, parts, tools, and scheduling needs. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation in a chemical environment. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot process instrumentation, control valves, DCS systems, low‑voltage power circuits, and 4-20 mA loops. Install, adjust, and repair manual, pneumatic, electric, and electronic measurement and control devices. Maintain and troubleshoot QA/QC instrumentation, including analyzers and gas chromatographs. Ensure proper upkeep of calibration standards, testing equipment, and calibration gas cylinders. Conduct routine and non‑routine calibrations, adjustments, and documentation. Collaborate effectively with operations, engineering, and construction groups to coordinate work and resolve issues. Promote safe work practices and contribute to training, mentoring, and the development of I&E technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of I&E maintenance experience in a chemical, refinery, or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of process instrumentation, control valves, DCS systems, and 4-20 mA circuits. Experience with low-voltage electrical systems, ladder logic, and SIS functionality. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel. Experience with job planning, work prioritization, and coordinating maintenance with operations. Proficiency in troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of analytical equipment (e.g., gas chromatographs, process analyzers). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and loop sheets. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
