Job Description
Join a team dedicated to supporting mission-critical environments as a Critical Systems Electrical Technician II . This role focuses on maintaining and servicing UPS battery systems that power essential facilities, such as data centers. Technicians in this position work both independently and collaboratively, performing hands-on technical work that directly impacts the reliability and uptime of critical infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for those with a background in critical power systems who are looking to advance their skills and take on greater responsibility in a dynamic, safety-focused environment. Responsibilities Perform battery installations, replacements, startups, and preventive maintenance on UPS battery systems in mission-critical facilities Troubleshoot and conduct routine and emergency maintenance on DC battery systems to ensure optimal performance Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and method of procedure (MOP) documents to execute work accurately Collect and record test data, completing detailed reports using a laptop Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with arc-flash requirements Collaborate with other service teams, such as Switchgear, Operations, and HVAC, to support overall facility operations Assist with warehouse operations and maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites Travel locally to customer sites approximately 30% of the time or more, as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with battery systems or in critical power environments Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory Proficiency in using electrical test equipment, such as multimeters, amp clamps, and current transformers (CTs) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong commitment to safety and effective communication with customers Technical skills in series, parallel, and series-parallel battery connections Understanding of torque values, torque marking, and visual inspection standards Familiarity with voltage isolation and lockout/tagout practices Experience using battery testing tools (e.g., Alber Cellcorder) OSHA 10-Hour Certification
