Job Description

Fiber optic and Electronic Technician
Location:
Blacksburg, VA 24060
Duration:
4 months contract to Hire
Work Hours:
8am to 5pm Monday - Friday
Job Description:
Fiber optic and electronic experience, installing and troubleshooting boards, doing wiring. Can train on Fiber individual to test fiber optic sensors, ensuring high-quality product performance. Responsibilities include configuring, preparing, and maintaining test equipment, as well as splicing optical fibers and components. The role requires following written procedures, maintaining accurate production travelers, and contributing to continuous improvement by suggesting updates and enhancements. Additionally, this position will involve cross-training team members to bridge knowledge gaps and optimize workflow efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities:
Test fiber optic sensors Assist in configuring, preparing and maintaining test equipment Splicing optical fibers and components Follow written procedures and maintain production travelers Assist with updating procedures and provide suggestions on improvements Crosstrain team members to bridge knowledge gaps and improve workflow 5+ years Prior experience working with electronic components, wiring harnesses, connectors and mechanical assemblies Ability to read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, electronic schematics, and parts lists Proficient in the use of splicing equipment and optical test/measurement equipment Good organizational and time management skills Keeps a clean and safe working environment and optimizes space utilization Ability to work independently and safely #TB_EN #ZR Why TalentBurst?
