Southeastern Computer Consultants, Inc. (SCCI) paid holidays, 401(k) United States, Virginia, King George 5166 Potomac Drive (Show on map) May 27, 2026 Description Overview SCCI is seeking an Engineering Technician
III / IV
to join our team in support of a Gun Weapons System (GWS) laboratory environment. In this position, you will work in a fast pace, team environment that requires critical thinking, troubleshooting and repairing complex gun weapon systems in a timely manner. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA. Responsibilities:
Provides GWS laboratory maintenance by creating and maintaining a shipboard functional environment by integrating all required systems/subsystems, either shipboard representative or emulated Install, configure, and maintain tactical systems, simulators and all required lab support equipment Work in a fast pace, team environment that requires critical thinking, troubleshooting and repairing complex gun weapon systems in a timely manner Become the subject matter expert on their assigned MK160 Gun Weapon System Installs, configures and maintains connections to Gun Mounts and sensors at the Potomac River Test Range (PRTR) Support on-site testing, including component-level, integration-level and live-fire testing Perform first-level troubleshooting of failed equipment, reporting status and health of the equipment Provide technical support when hardware issues arise during system installations and test events Performs fiber-optic troubleshooting, repairs, fiber-management, and fiber-optic assembly operations Performs cable repair and fabrication, hardware enclosure electrical wiring Works with Hardware Engineers to support construction of basic switches and custom electronic components Generates and maintains configuration drawings for systems installed Works with Hardware Engineers to build equipment prototypes and plan for lab growth requirements
Qualifications Essential Skills and Experience:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a minimum of an Active Secret Security Clearance High school diploma Ability to be proactive and self-driven to deliver high quality results in a fast pace environment Hardware/Electronics Technician Certification or Equivalent Experience or Training Training or experience with Soldering (prefer
JSTD-001
Certification or equivalent) Experience with optical fibers, fiber optic tools and fiber optic components; Fiber Optic Technician and Fiber Optic Installer certificates (or ability to obtain them) Experience with assembling military style connectors and copper cabling Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment Self-motivated to drive projects to completion with minimal supervision when required Ability to plan and coordinate individual assignments to meet project goals Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Familiar with the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle and Systems Engineering processes Familiar with Navy (or Military/DoD) maintenance processes, e.g. MRC, 3-M, Lockout/Tagout Knowledge of current combat systems including weapon control systems, radar, electro-optical and electronic warfare sensors Ability to write procedures and validate technical processes Basic Unix command line and scripting experience, shell programming knowledge Prefer Basic Python Programming experience Basic network switch configuration SCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of employees and their families.
