Full Job Description Electronics Technician Maintenance I Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Job Summary:
SOLVERE is seeking Inertial Electronics Technician I. The Technician performs depot-level troubleshooting and repairs on circuit cards, modules, and assemblies used in U.S. Navy Navigation systems. This person plays a critical role in keeping high-value electronic systems operational by diagnosing and repairing inertial systems such as:
AN/WSN-2/2A, AN/WSN-5, MK-27
Gyro, MK-39 Gyro, and associated inertial sensors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform depot-level troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on legacy inertial navigation systems, including
AN/WSN-5
INS, along with AN/WSN-2/2A, MK-27, and MK-39 Gyrocompasses. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components in accordance with NAVSEA and DoD technical manuals. Problem-solving and critical thinking for troubleshooting complex issues. Communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with engineers and customers. Familiarity with U.S. Navy maintenance procedures, Navy drawings, and MIL-STD documentation preferred. Experience with AN/WSN-7 or
AN/WSN-7A RLGN
is preferred.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or GED.
Formal electronics training from:
Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
Experience:
Two years of experience to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout. As a requirement of employment, all SOLVERE employees must hold U.S.
Citizenship Location:
Virginia Beach, VA (JEBLCFS) /
Norfolk, VA Travel:
Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)
Clearance:
Secret Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position operates in standard Office, Assembly Laboratory, and Aboard Vessel/Shipyard environments.
Standard offices and laboratories:
Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
In shipyards and aboard vessels:
Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of 40 lbs. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Dust, noise and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists.
Personal Protective Equipment:
safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
