About BPI Medical BPI Medical is a leading provider of medical instrument and endoscope repair services. Founded in 1976 in Fife, Washington, we serve hospitals, surgery centers, and health systems across all 48 contiguous states with flexible endoscope repair, rigid endoscope repair, surgical instrument repair, power equipment repair, and mobile on-site service. We operate as an ISO 13485
2016 certified facility and are trusted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, MultiCare Health System, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, and other anchor health systems to keep critical surgical and diagnostic equipment in service. Our work directly supports patient care: every device that comes through our facility goes back into service, often the same week, ready for the next procedure. We are growing — significantly — and we are investing in the people, systems, and processes that will let us keep delivering on what has been our standard since 1976: it has to be right, and it has to be fast, no exceptions. The Role As a Flexible Endoscope Repair Technician at BPI Medical, you bring high-value scopes back into clinical service for hospitals, ASCs, and health systems across all 48 contiguous states. You own the device from the moment it lands on your bench through final QA release — diagnosing, repairing, leak-testing, and certifying scopes that go back into procedures on patients. Every device you touch matters, and every record you sign is part of an ISO 13485
2016 quality system trusted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, MultiCare Health System, and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. What You'll Do Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble flexible video and fiber-optic endoscopes — gastroscopes, colonoscopes, bronchoscopes, duodenoscopes, ureteroscopes, and rhinolaryngoscopes. Perform leak testing, channel inspection, optical alignment, and final functional verification against OEM acceptance criteria. Work across major OEM platforms over time — Olympus, Karl Storz, Pentax, and Fujifilm — building deep platform fluency as you advance through Tech I, Tech II, and Tech III. Document every step of your work to ISO 13485
traceability standards, because the records you sign protect the patient on the other end of the device. As a senior technician, lead complex repairs, mentor newer technicians, and serve as the line's technical reference on OEM service manuals and recurring failure modes. Partner with Decontamination, QA, and Service Coordination to keep committed customer turnarounds on schedule. What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent. ANY ONE of the following:
completion of a biomedical, electronics, or electromechanical technology program; two or more years of medical device, optical instrument, or precision-instrument repair experience; U.S. Military training in a relevant medical equipment or biomedical MOS (such as Army 68A or Air Force 4A2X1); or completion of a recognized biomedical or surgical instrument apprenticeship program. Manual dexterity and fine-motor precision sufficient for repair of miniature optical and mechanical assemblies. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted; able to work an assigned shift on-site in Fife, WA. U.S. work authorization. Nice to Have OEM service training on Olympus, Karl Storz, Pentax, or Fujifilm flexible scope platforms. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET), or ISO 13485
2016 internal auditor credential. Familiarity with AAMI ST91 and IEC 60601-2-18
standards. Prior experience in an ISO 13485 or FDA 21 CFR
Part 820 environment. Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 35 lbs unassisted (50 lbs with assistance). PPE provided and required:
