Job Summary:
Splicing large & small count Fiber Cables, Mid Sheath Cuts.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Utilize proper techniques to splice fiber optic cable. Prep/Splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables Troubleshooting of fiber utilizing an OTDR. Strong communication skills required between splicer and tech ops manager so that problems can be addressed as soon as possible. Proper record keeping and be able to review cable records as necessary. Knowledge, understanding and practice of safety regulations within OSHA, NESC, and NEC, and other construction related guidelines. Maintain equipment and vehicle to a high standard. Work indoors and outdoors as needed. Be able to iterate to the project/construction managers detailed accounts of field activity, both verbal and written. Coordinate with tech ops managers to verify and perform work as directed. Night work as needed for things like node splits. Able to be on call for emergencies involving damaged cable. Must know ribbon fiber. Must know fiber to the home. Tasks Required by a

Utilize Fusion Splicer to splice Loose Tube & Ribbon fiber cable. Prep/Splice single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables Troubleshooting of fiber utilizing an OTDR. Strong communication skills required between splicer and tech ops manager so that problems can be addressed as soon as possible. Proper record keeping and be able to review cable records as necessary. Knowledge, understanding and practice of safety regulations within OSHA, NESC, and NEC, and other construction related guidelines. Maintain equipment and vehicle to a high standard. Mechanical— Knowledge of optical splicing equipment like a cleaver, splicer and bucket truck
