Job Requirements Keyport, WA Secret Polygraph not specified Early Career (2+ yrs experience) Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician IV / Quality Assurance Specialist to support the Test & Evaluation Department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT). This position supports undersea warfare test, evaluation, environmental testing, range operations, failure analysis, and production quality assurance efforts critical to Fleet readiness. This role supports Dr. Shawn Wallen and the Undersea Test Ranges, Systems Acquisition & Assessment, and Test Resources Divisions in executing mission-critical undersea systems testing and operational validation. This position is ideal for a technician with strong environmental testing, electro-mechanical troubleshooting, cable fabrication, QA documentation, and database tracking experience in a DoD or Navy environment. Position Overview This hybrid role combines: Environmental Test Lab (ETL) Production Control Test Engineering Support Range Operations & Systems Maintenance Failure Analysis Lab Support Undersea Vehicle (MK30 / UUV) Repair Support Quality Assurance & Training Records Management You will support undersea weapon systems, torpedo systems, unmanned undersea vehicles (UUV), acoustic systems, vibration/shock testing systems, and classified hardware handling operations. Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Test Lab (ETL) & Production Control Load and track test items in CATTS database (approx. 25/month) Prepare and compile test packages per lab procedures Monitor and track components through environmental test sequences Conduct inventory and photographic documentation of hardware Input and close out TMIS reports (HTTDS/APCS) Maintain FRACAS, FAR, and ISO9000 production documentation Prepare classified and non-classified shipments (approx. 15/month) Maintain classified hardware storage and documentation Generate weekly production and metric reports Test Engineering & Environmental Testing Support Set up fixtures and perform environmental and functional testing Operate vibration, shock, climatic, HALT/HASS, thermal, and specialty test systems Perform acoustic testing at TATF, ATF, and WSTF facilities Record testing data in CATTS database Assist engineers in test instruction development and rewrites Troubleshoot failed components and conduct failure analysis Build/repair cables and test support equipment Assist with calibration tracking and lab equipment maintenance Range Operations & Systems Support Operate and maintain acoustic, electronic, mechanical, and electro-hydraulic range systems Maintain maintenance logs and perform trend analysis Support fleet validation, dockside and underway events (approx. 3/month) Provide technical support for communication/radio systems Support parts research using Government databases Assist in development and fabrication of range systems MK30 & Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) Support Provide depot-level repair support for MK30 mobile target components Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical assemblies Support turnaround, breakdown, reassembly, and containerization of systems Perform preventative and corrective maintenance Assist with UUV systems including Razorback and Snakehead platforms Support Underwater Tracking Range Equipment (UTRE / "pingers") Quality Assurance & Training Coordination Support CAPA, audits, and Repair Review Board documentation Conduct quality walkthroughs and system audits (Book-to-Floor / OIS) Track and manage explosive safety and crane certifications Coordinate and track workforce technical qualifications Maintain training records and competency tracking Assist with QA metrics and compliance reporting Required Qualifications Active Secret Clearance U.S. Citizenship Associate degree (or equivalent technical training) Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or defense industrial programs Experience with environmental testing (vibration, shock, temperature, humidity) Electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience Cable fabrication and repair experience Experience with production control, test tracking, or maintenance logs Strong documentation and database entry experience Desired Qualifications Experience with CATTS, TMIS, FRACAS, or similar systems Experience supporting torpedo, USW, UUV, or undersea systems ISO9000 or Quality Management System experience EKMS training (Government provided if needed) Experience working in classified material handling environments Familiarity with Navy Correspondence Manual Work Environment Onsite at NUWC Division Keyport Lab, shop, range, and waterfront environments Occasional shipboard support Possible extended hours during test events Classified material handling responsibilities
