$23-26+/hr, DOE Job Description The Laser Operator sets up, operates, and maintains laser cutting and engraving machines in a manufacturing environment to produce precise, high-quality cuts on plastic components. This role selects and runs appropriate cutting programs, adjusts laser beam settings, loads and unloads materials, and performs routine maintenance checks to support consistent production efficiency and uphold safety and quality standards in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Set up laser cutting and engraving machines according to production specifications and job requirements. Operate laser cutters and related laser equipment to produce accurate cuts on plastic and other assigned materials. Select, load, and run appropriate cutting programs to meet quality and dimensional requirements. Adjust laser beam settings, focus, speed, and power to optimize cut quality and efficiency. Load, position, and secure materials on the machine to ensure precise and repeatable cutting. Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and consistency, and make machine adjustments as needed. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with laser operation, including laser cutting and laser engraving equipment. Ability to operate laser cutters and laser machines in a manufacturing or production environment. Good eyesight and strong hand dexterity to handle and inspect tiny parts accurately. Ability to accurately complete all related paperwork and wanding or scanning functions. Capability to follow detailed safety policies and procedures consistently. Flexibility to react to changing production priorities and handle additional duties as required. Willingness and ability to attend and pass all required trainings. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with laser cutting programs and machine setup for plastic materials. Experience working with laser engraving operations in a fast-paced setting. Comfort working with small parts that require fine motor skills and close visual inspection. Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy and quality control. Ability to work effectively in environments with chemicals, fumes, noise, heat, cold, and low-light conditions. Why Work Here? The setting is fast-paced and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to established procedures. Appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols are expected at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
