Job Description

Recognized for our leadership in low-impact mine development and nationally acclaimed for our reclamation and closure practices, our team has produced gold from six different deposits in the region since 1990. Currently the operation is managing an exciting multi-year pipeline of projects and is looking to build our team to effectively deliver results. Job Summary The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing the process control systems supporting the mill and filter plant. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment by applying strong technical expertise in automation, instrumentation, and controls. The position works closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Functions
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and program control systems, including MCCs, VFDs, instruments, PID loops, sensors, I-to-P's, digital or analog output devices and auto-valves.
  • Maintain and calibrate process instrumentation such as flow, pressure, level, temperature, and analytical devices.
  • Troubleshoot and support control systems including DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation failures to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks in alignment with maintenance plans.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Support commissioning, start-up, and optimization of mill and filter plant equipment.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with site HSE policies, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform lockout/tagout, electrical isolation, and verify zero energy states prior to work.
  • Document work activities accurately in CMMS (JDE or similar), including work orders, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, reliability enhancements, and cost reductions.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure work areas are safe and organized.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and supporting filter plant systems, including filtration controls and associated instrumentation.
  • Participate in inspections, audits, and incident investigations as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrical or Instrumentation Journeyman certification, or equivalent technical training required.
  • 3-7 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance in mining, milling, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and industrial power distribution.
  • Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency in instrumentation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (JDE preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of
MSHA/OSHA
regulations and safe electrical work practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with MSHA regulations and reporting requirements. (preferred)
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the U.S. Health, Safety, and Environmental Requirements
