Job Description

Mackay Marine is a global marine electronics service company with more than 500 employees within 60 service depots in twenty-two (22) countries, including the Americas, Asia, and Europe. For over fifty (50) years Mackay has sold, installed, and serviced marine navigation and communication equipment onboard commercial ships, fishing boats, and ferries. Mackay Marine currently has two (2) openings for Marine Electronics Technicians (aka Marine Service Technician) with the experience, skills, and qualifications below in our Seattle, WA location.
Marine Electronics Technician Job Summary :
Under limited supervision, the Marine Electronics Technician (MET) will install, service, and repair electronic equipment onboard commercial ships, ferries, and fishing boats. The technician will test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components as well as, loading, updating, and modifying software. Marine Electronic Technicians utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems. Technicians will make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completion of the assignment, the MET will compose a detailed service report.

Radars ECDIS Satcoms HF and VHF Radios GPS Gyrocompasses Autopilots Sounders Sonars Marine Electronics Technician Requirements:
3+ Years of experience as a MET in the commercial shipping, fishing, or pleasure craft industry or acquired in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines. Associate degree or equivalent training and experience. Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application is required. Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement & GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License is preferred. Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 20-50 lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather. Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
