Job Description

Job description: What is the Position? An Automation Tech to collaborate with a small team of people dedicated to the successful deployment and operations of innovative programs. A handy, scrappy, jack-of-all trades, with a mechanical and technical mindset will succeed in this role. Things change quickly and systems need to be built, installed and supported. Are you able to adapt? Being on the defensive will not help you in this role, you own problems and deploy solutions. This position reports to the VP of R&D with activities coordinated by the R&D Developers.
Work Environment:
This is a full time in-shop/office position. PartsBadger is a relaxed, casual work environment with automated operations located in West Bend, WI and headquarters in Cedarburg, WI. Our Advanced Manufacturing facility is in West Bend powered by technologies developed by the R&D team to transform high-mix low volume production. The R&D Team is a group devoted to innovation, rolling up their sleeves and doing what it takes to change the world through our technology.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Collaborate with Project Managers and Software Developers. Create and complete tasks as assigned. Select, integrate, and deploy automation technologies. Provide support and respond to tickets. Assemble, install and maintain parts and components for automation. Test ideas and technology Create and maintain support and deployment documentation. Maintain updates and revisions of technology. You're a Great Fit If You... Are mechanically inclined — you've replaced an alternator, wired a 12V power supply, and know your way around a multimeter Are comfortable with hand and power tools (hammer drill, sawzall, torque wrench — no big deal) Know your fasteners: M6x1, ¼-20, NPT — you can read a spec and pick the right hardware Have above-average computer skills — you know what 192.168.1.1 is and you've mapped a network drive Learn by doing: forums, YouTube, and hands-on trial are how you build new skills Can juggle priorities and know the difference between "good enough" and "perfect" Have been told you could "fix anything" or been compared to MacGyver Bonus Points For 3+ years programming 5-axis CNC mills (3+2 axis) Experience setting up 5th-axis machining centers Robotics or automation technology experience JavaScript, HTML, or Python skills CAD/CAM modeling (Fusion 360 or similar) Bilingual in Spanish Background with high-growth companies Opportunity for
