This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and integrity of our fiber optic infrastructure. Hourly wage is based on experience level. Job Responsibilities Splice various types of fiber optic cable Utilize the fiber optic color code for accurate cable identification Opening, bonding, grounding, splice head, and hand holes, etc. Identify and troubleshoot basic optical problems, minimizing network downtime Install network equipment Lift and manipulate splice enclosures and other equipment as required for the job Provide acceptable testing and turn-over of splicing on time Read and interpret fiber records in the field, ensuring accurate documentation Maintain a positive attitude and a strong work ethic, delivering high productivity with minimal supervision Other duties as assigned Education/Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable Ability to identify and distinguish colors Ability to Work with Google Earth KMZ's and KML's and accurately read construction prints Understanding of utility construction installation methodologies, blueprint reading, and understanding of requirement/specification technical requirements Provide on-call support and work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends, to address customer needs promptly Prior fiber splicing experience is preferred
