In this role, you will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in a Smart Manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for overseeing high-level troubleshooting, researching component datasheets to distinguish operational characteristics, and guiding a team of technicians. As a Lead, you will display critical thinking and mentorship skills to drive quality and efficiency within the Department. The Repair Technician Lead will utilize complex equipment for troubleshooting and repair duties, including 3D X-Ray systems, Solder Pots, and Rework Stations, while providing essential technical support and oversight to the broader team.
Job Responsibilities:
Diagnose root causes of complex failures and implement corrective actions for PCBAs. Monitor and maintain testing station performance to ensure optimal throughput.Component Research:
Analyze component datasheets to identify operational characteristics and functional Inputs/Outputs.Team Leadership:
Ensure all Repair Technicians follow standard testing processes and safety protocols. Perform advanced manual soldering, including Thru-Hole, SMT, Leadless, and BGAs. Utilize specialized equipment including 3D X-Ray systems, Solder Pots, and Rework Stations. Train Repair and Test Technicians on new procedures, product troubleshooting, and advanced soldering techniques. Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for technicians on complex repair challenges. Effectively communicate with management regarding quality trends and timeliness objectives. Perform other duties as assigned to support Department goals.Qualifications:
2-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is highly desired. Strong understanding of printed circuit board testing procedures and root cause analysis. Proficient in reading prints, schematics, and manufacturing documentation. Prior experience with IPC-A-610 orIPC-7711/7721
is required. Deep understanding of Printed Circuit Board technologies and the electrical components utilized therein. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to deliver technical instructions to a team. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, andISO-9001
(QMS) standards. Ability to work in both team-led and individual environments with minimal supervision. Expert manual soldering skills (Thru-Hole, SMT, Leadless, BGAs) and knowledge of workmanship standards (J-STD-001). Expert use of electronics equipment, including DVM, Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer, Waveform Generators, and LCR Meters.
