Job Description

Position Overview 2G Engineering is looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to assist with all aspects of manufacturing, inspection, assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of our unique and highly specialized products. 2G Engineering is an AS9100 certified manufacturing environment with a cutting-edge catalog of new and existing products that are continually evolving, the ideal candidate for this position will have a strong knowledge of electro-mechanical products, powertrain delivery concepts, basic electrical knowledge, exercise exceptional attention to detail, and possess strong documentation abilities. This is a full-time position with benefits located at our Sun Prairie, WI office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect mechanical components with inspection equipment and precision measuring tools Create inspection reports Assemble actuators Test actuators Make suggestions and demonstrate initiative in executing directed tasks Troubleshooting - Determining the causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it Data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation Installing and working on equipment/machines Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products, such as industrial machinery or equipment, and measuring instruments Operate drill press, grinders, engine lathe, 3D printer, laser cutter, or other machines to modify parts, or to fabricate experimental parts for testing (training provided) Maintain all equipment in excellent working order Maintain a clean and organized work environment Experience/Education/Licenses/Certifications Required Associate degree in a technical field such as machine tool, auto-tech., tool and die, industrial technology, or a related engineering degree Experience doing assembly with hand tools Previous related work experience preferred, either as an intern or full-time employee Experience using Microsoft Office software tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and/or Google word processing and spreadsheet software, and Adobe Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Desired Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Demonstrate ability to plan and schedule work activities effectively Complex problem solving - identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions Demonstrate initiative in making suggestions and executing directed tasks Knowledge of design techniques and tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models Strong mechanical skills and troubleshooting expertise Knowledge of basic electrical concepts a plus Drafting and CAD design experience a plus Display professionalism and attention to detail Ability to work in a small, but fast-paced work environment Ability to quickly move from one task to another and adapt to a dynamic work environment Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential Ability to work independently with little direction and ability to manage one's own time Ability to establish and maintain effective and positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, other departments Submit an Application Please fill out the form below to submit your application for the Mechanical Technician position Engineering Manager 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Position Overview 2G Engineering is looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to assist with all aspects of manufacturing, inspection, assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of our unique and highly specialized products. 2G Engineering is an AS9100 certified manufacturing environment with a cutting-edge catalog of new and existing products that are continually evolving, the ideal candidate for this position will have a strong knowledge of electro-mechanical products, powertrain delivery concepts, basic electrical knowledge, exercise exceptional attention to detail, and possess strong documentation abilities.
