Duties Help Position Description #D1201000 POSITION DUTIES
This position is loced in the Joint Forces Headquarters-Ste, Logistics Directore (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The primary purpose of this position is to perform calibrion, diagnostics repair, and certificion of electronic, mechanical, and radiion Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).MAJOR DUTIES
(1) Calibres and repairs TMDE within support capability and authority including various levels of calibrion as designed in technical bulletins, manuals, etc. Performs functional electronic, physical, and radioactive testing involving interpretion and analysis of measurement da, in accordance with cyclic inspection requirements. Aligns, troubleshoots, tests, inspects, repairs, modifies, calibres and certifies precision measurement equipment such as multimeters, microwave equipment, oscilloscopes, temperure analyzers, mercurial barometers, gage blocks and micrometer caliper dimensional equipment, digital voltmeters, signal generors, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, torque testers, weight scales, electronic counters, radiion monitors, radix calibrors, and radiion dosimeters. (2) Sets up system test sets and various types of test equipment such as frequency meters, standing wave rio meters, radio frequency (RF) power meters, function/ arbitrary waveform generor, distortion analyzers, time frequency work stions, oscillors, voltmeters, electronic counters, oscilloscopes, tenuors, decade resistors and capacitors, signal generors, stroboscope, tachometers, pneumic and hydraulic pressure standards and other physical and electronic tests. (3) Following repair, tests by applying signals in known amplitude and wave shape into oscilloscopes to observe wave ptern. Isoles faults by taking measurements and comparisons in voltage, amperage, ohms, henries, power factor, wts, temperure, humidity, microns, foot-pounds, decibels, sensitivity, noise, stability, Voltage Standard Wave Rio (VSWR), impedance, phase, absolute pressure, time intervals, displacement, flow re, etc., to determine performance of equipment. If signal is distorted, traces it through electronic stages to loce malfunctioning part. (4) Determines purpose in operion characteristics of each major section. Refers to technical manuals and manufactures specificions to obtain informion on operion characteristics of circuit components such as integred circuits, microprocessors, decoders, lching networks, notch filters, logics, controllers, programmable gain amplifiers, digital displays, transistors, tubes, transformers, coils, relays, motors, and similar devices. Disassembles, cleans and inspects parts such as printed circuit boards, resistors, capacitors, integred circuits, relays, chambers, cables, and wiring for evidence or wear or malfunction. (5) Completes necessary Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS), calibrion, radiion reports and other records and forms on work completed. Ensures maximum number of weapons systems are operionally ready. Uses TMDE Integred Maintenance Management Systems (TIMMS) for all supported equipment to track, turn-in, repair, calibre, and return to the end user in a timely fashion to prevent work stoppages. Furnishes technical da to the supervisor for inclusion in reports as well as recommending equipment improvement and solutions for unusual problems reled to testing and the use of precision TMDE. (6) Follows approprie safety procedures, with special care being exercised while calibring high voltage, radio frequency, radioactive sources and high-pressure instruments and gages. Performs and interprets wipe tests on radiion sources for possibility of radiion hazards. Familiar with and abides by all Federal and Ste regulions concerning handling, transportion and disposal of radioactive waste or devices. (7) Performs other duties as assigned. Experience in tracing signals and voltage phs, and skilled in the analysis of waveform characteristics such as timing, durion, frequency, and phasing.
